Adult Forum: Race, Ethnicity & Culture
November 4 & 18

In between the 8:30 and 11:00 worship services you are invited to get some refreshments and join the Adult Forum in the Fireside Room.
We will look at the ELCA’s Social Statement Freed in Christ: Race, Ethnicity, and Culture, which was adopted at the 1993 church-wide assembly.

How are we doing with the principles expressed in this document for the churc, our congregation, and our individual lives?

Discipleship

Encourage-Oneanother

Christianity without discipleship is always Christianity without Christ.

Just as love of God begins with listening to his word, so the beginning of love for our brothers and sisters is learning to listen to them.
―  (Dietrich Bonhoeffer: Life Together)

We Are Becoming

This life is not devoutness, but becoming devout;

not health, but becoming healthy;
not being, but becoming, and
not resting, but doing.

We are not yet what we should be, but we are becoming what we should be.

Martin Luther, Meditation on Philippians 3:13
