Contemplating Compassion: An Invitation from Worship & Music

Adorning our sanctuary is an initiative by the Worship & Music Team to capture the theme of "Compassionate Caring". Through the making of paper cutouts by the hands of all who come to worship--both members and nonmembers, and asking them for a word or phrase that reflects their understanding of Compassionate Caring, a mosaic of Compassionate Caring is created. It is fun and moving to walk around the sanctuary and meditate on the hands and what they express about our theme for this season. Thank you to all who have participated and we look forward to adding more "Hands of Compassion" to our sanctuary!

Christianity without discipleship is always Christianity without Christ.

Just as love of God begins with listening to his word, so the beginning of love for our brothers and sisters is learning to listen to them.
―  (Dietrich Bonhoeffer: Life Together)

We Are Becoming

This life is not devoutness, but becoming devout;

not health, but becoming healthy;
not being, but becoming, and
not resting, but doing.

We are not yet what we should be, but we are becoming what we should be.

Martin Luther, Meditation on Philippians 3:13
